Frequently asked questions

What is PanchPrana, exactly?

It's one app for four related practices: breathwork, meditation, sleep, and yoga & movement. It began as a breathwork and pranayama app and grew into the rest, because a real practice rarely stops at the breath. Inside you'll find 192 narrated audio sessions, 66 techniques, poses, and movements with illustrated guides, 41 practices you can adjust, and 18 multi-day courses.

What's the difference between a guided session and a practice?

A guided session is narrated audio — you press play and a voice leads you the whole way, start to finish. A practice is self-guided and precisely timed: the app cues each phase, and you control the durations, rounds, background sound, and end chime. A technique or pose is a single named method with its own Learn guide, and a course is a multi-day progression that deepens one method over time.

Is PanchPrana released yet?

Yes — PanchPrana is generally available on both platforms, and everything described on this page describes the app as it stands today.

On Android, install it from the Play listing. On iOS, install it from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. Updates arrive the usual way on both platforms.

Which devices does PanchPrana run on?

Android 11 and later, and iPhone and iPad on iOS 26. You can install it today from Google Play or the App Store. The catalog, the free tier, and everything described on this page are the same on every platform — only the store handling your subscription and the way your data travels between devices differ.

Is PanchPrana free?

Yes, there's a free tier with no account required — and it's a real practice, not a demo. It includes twelve guided sessions (four each of breathwork, meditation, and sleep), every one of the 66 techniques, poses, and movements to practice in full rather than just read about, every Foundational practice, Easy Asana, and two complete 7-day courses — Calm Starter and Joint Mobility Foundations. You also get your first custom practice, and your streaks, history, and favourites are always free. A Premium subscription unlocks all 192 guided sessions, all 41 practices, all 18 courses, and unlimited custom practices. See Free & Premium.

Do I need to create an account?

No. PanchPrana works entirely without sign-up. Your practices, settings, and history are stored on your own device.

Does my practice move to a new device?

On iPhone and iPad, Settings > Sync with iCloud carries your practices, customizations, and history between your Apple devices. It's off until you switch it on.

On Android there's nothing to switch on inside the app — your data is included in your device's Google account backup automatically, and you control that from Android's own system settings rather than from PanchPrana. Either way the data travels through your own Google or Apple account — never through a server of ours. See the sync and backup section of our Privacy Policy.

Does it work offline?

Mostly. The whole catalog — every technique, pose, practice, course, and Learn guide — ships inside the app, so browsing and self-guided practice work with no connection at all. The narrated guided audio streams on demand, so those sessions need a connection to play.

Can the app remind me to practice?

Yes. Settings > Reminders has a daily practice reminder you set to a time that suits you. It's scheduled on your device, not sent from a server, and you can turn it off whenever you like.

Is my data private?

There's no account, we don't sell data, and there are no ads inside the app. Your practices, customizations, and history never leave your device.

We do measure how the app and this site are used, and we advertise PanchPrana on Google and Meta — but only if you agree first. We ask everyone, in every country, and the app works exactly the same if you decline. You can change your mind whenever you like, from Settings > Share usage data in the app or Your privacy choices on this site. Our full Privacy Policy spells out what is and isn't collected.

What does Premium cost?

Premium comes as a monthly or an annual subscription, priced in your own currency by the store. The paywall inside the app shows the exact price, the billing period, and any introductory free trial before you confirm anything — that's the figure to trust, since it accounts for your region and any offer running at the time.

How do I cancel or manage my Premium subscription?

From inside the app, open Settings > Subscription > Manage Subscription — that takes you straight to the store's own screen. You can also get there directly: Google Play > Subscriptions on Android, or App Store > your account > Subscriptions on iPhone and iPad. Billing is handled entirely by Google or Apple, so we can't cancel or refund a subscription on our end — see our Terms of Service for details.

I subscribed but the app still shows locked content.

Open Settings > Subscription > Restore Purchases. That re-checks the store and re-unlocks Premium — it's also what to use on a new device or after reinstalling. Make sure you're signed in with the same account you subscribed with: the Google account on Android, or the Apple Account on iPhone and iPad. If it still doesn't unlock, email us.

A guided session won't play.

Guided audio streams, so the first thing to check is your connection — on a weak one a session can take a while to start. If the connection is fine, check whether the session is a Premium one — locked sessions carry a lock badge, and tapping one opens the subscription options rather than playing. Otherwise, close and reopen the app; if it still won't play, email us with the name of the session, your device, and the app version shown at the bottom of Settings.

Is breathwork and yoga safe for me?

Many practices are gentle, but some breathing techniques involve breath retention or rapid breathing, and some poses load the spine, knees, and shoulders. Neither suits everyone. If you're pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, or managing a heart, lung, blood-pressure, or seizure condition, talk to a physician before starting — and stop immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, or in pain. Full details are in our Health & Safety Disclaimer.

Can I build my own practice?

Yes. You can sequence steps and set exact phase durations and rounds, starting from a technique preset or a blank custom step. Building and replaying custom practices is a Premium feature.
